One of the most powerful things a witch has at his disposal is his word. When we craft magic, when we invoke the divine, when we sing praises to the Great Ones of Old, our words and the very breath of life that we expel, are a creative force. A powerful magician understands the mystery behind this and actively cultivates the power of his word. This is done by deeply understanding the value of Integrity.

Being a person of integrity means being a person of your word, acting consistently in accordance with your word and acting in harmony with your true sense of self.

When you make a declaration, any statement in fact, you are making it to the entire universe. The universe inherently seeks to manifest your thoughts and since words are merely an expression of your thoughts, the universe is very willing to make your words into reality. If you understand this truth, then you understand the gravity of the words you say, and will learn to always act in accordance with your word. Therefore, the next time you say, “I will be there at 7pm” (for example) make sure to be there exactly on time – and the universe will take note of this, for you will be working in accordance with the natural order of things. You words will acquire more power and the next time you make a statement it is that much more likely to come true. Once you have cultivated enough integrity in your life, then you can actively use the understanding of the power of words to make reality happen on the spot – that is magic.

In contrast, if you constantly go back on your word, miss appointments, don’t follow through and “flake out” on things you promised to participate in, then your word loses its power and you cease to be a powerful magician. The next time you make a statement to manifest something in your life, don’t be surprised if it doesn’t come about. Why should it? The universe clearly sees that your word has no value and as such, you can no longer speak things into existence.

Therefore, follow through on your promises. Do what you say you are going to do. Never promise something you can’t deliver on, and consistently act when you say you are going to act. What you’ll learn through this process is that you will then be able to make “I am” statements or “I have” statements and they will manifest faster than you can ever imagine. Consequently you’ll become an ethical, reliable person, teaching others the importance of integrity through the very manner in which you live.
